Log Trader & Forestry Advisers

The Forests (Regulation of Log Traders and Forestry Advisers) Regulations 2022 came into force on the 6th August 2023.

To meet these regulations, all persons who provide advice relating to specific forestry activities, makes an inspection or prepares reports in connection with another forestry adviser service, or acts on behalf of another person in relation to their sale and purchase of timber or other forest produce, must be registered as a Forestry Adviser. The registration process is managed by the Ministry of Primary Industries. Similarly, all persons or companies that buy, export, process themselves, or act as an agent for another person doing any of these things, must be a registered Log Trader.

In order to meet the regulatory requirements, NZFM is now a registered Log Trader and all Managers and key staff are registered Forestry Advisers.
